Dr. Shannon Tovey is passionate about sharing her knowledge on storytelling and audience engagement and what she has learned from her surprising success in a second-career.

The founder and C.E.O. of StorySound Consulting and inventor of the Aspiration to Inspiration model, she provides targeted marketing research, business development advisement, and professional training in writing/storytelling to individuals and companies of all sizes.

Her work on reader engagement through storytelling has been published in top academic journals resulting in national and international speaking opportunities. She is a contributing author to Storyworld Possible Selves and Narrative Intersubjectivity (2025, DeGuyter).

Dr. Tovey holds a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education, an M.Ed. in Education, and a B.S.B.A. in Accouting, along with advanced study in psychology, instructional design, and adult learning. In addition to her teaching, research, and consulting work, she is a popular writer on the Atlanta music scene.
