Dr. Shannon Tovey is passionate about sharing her knowledge on storytelling and audience engagement. The founder and C.E.O. of Story Sound Consulting, LLC, and proprof the Aspiration to Inspiration model, she provides targeted marketing research, business development and professional training in storytelling and creativity to individuals and companies of all sizes.

Her work on reader engagement through storytelling has been published in top academic journals resulting in national and international speaking opportunities. She is a contributing author to Storyworld Possible Selves and Narrative Intersubjectivity (2025, DeGuyter).

Dr. Tovey holds a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education, an M.Ed. in Education, and a B.S.B.A. in Accouting, along with advanced study in storytelling theory, archetypal psychology, instructional design, and adult learning.

In addition to her teaching, research, and consulting work, she is a popular writer on the Atlanta music scene. She also enjoys working with aspiring singer/songwriters on how to better engage audiences and listeners through musical and lyrical story architecture.
